The mission of the non-profit Food Ingredient and Health Research Institute is to eliminate harmful contaminants in food and food production through research, consumer education, and public reporting. The Food Ingredient and Health Research Institute will:
- Promote and support research, development and education in the field of food ingredient safety for the purpose of disease prevention;
- Solicit and distribute funding to determine the contaminant load of toxic chemicals and ingredients used in food manufacturing processes;
- Solicit and distribute funding for studies to determine any adverse health or behavioral effects from the consumption of certain food chemicals and/or ingredients.
- Provide platforms for consumer education on the subjects of nutrition and food ingredient safety.
- Provide a means for publicly reporting the peer reviewed results of studies conducted on food chemicals and ingredients.
